When asking folks about flood insurance for their homes the first thing I hear is that I'm in the 100 year plain. Over 60% of the claims from Harvey in Houston and surrounding areas also thought that until it happened. All these people thought it would never happen to them since it had never flooded in their area, but then it happened and it was too late for them. Granted the Federal Government has a plan for those folks you can get Government assistance in the form of a low interest loan. That average was around $6900 average. Most of the folks could have avoided spending thousands of dollars of their hard earned money by just spending a few hundred dollars a year to protect themselves. Let me run a quote for you.  Seasons coming be prepared.
